MIA: THE INTRO

The phrase "Missing in Action" (M.I.A.) is often used in a military context to describe soldiers who are absent from their duty. But what if we think about this from a spiritual sense?

As believers, we have a choice:

Are we M.I.A. from the world, fully engaged in God's Kingdom?

Or are we M.I.A. from the Kingdom, distant from God and caught up in the world?

Being M.I.A. from the World: A Call to Stand Firm

In Romans 12:2, Paul tells us:

"Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind."

To be M.I.A. from the world means choosing God over culture, truth over trends, and purpose over distractions. It means:

Standing firm in faith, even when the world pulls in another direction

Equipping yourself with the full Armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18)

Living boldly for Christ, unashamed of the Gospel (Romans 1:16)

Jesus calls us to be set apart—not hidden away, but different in how we live, love, and serve.

Being M.I.A. from the Kingdom: A Warning

On the flip side, many believers find themselves M.I.A. from the Kingdom of God—spiritually distant, distracted, or even lost. Jesus spoke about this in Luke 15:4-7, where the shepherd leaves the 99 to find the one lost sheep.

Signs you may be M.I.A. from the Kingdom:

Struggling to connect with God or feeling distant in your faith

Allowing the world's pressures to dictate your choices

Feeling unequipped, unprotected, and uncertain of your spiritual path

But the good news? God is always calling you back. Like the Prodigal Son (Luke 15:20), He runs to meet you with open arms.
